And winter time is slope time, but winter isn't just about skis and boards. Winter can also be experienced and enjoyed in many ways away from the slopes. How about a romantic carriage ride, for example? The horses are ready, freshly groomed and combed - off we go through thickly wrapped forests and out into nature, which is a fairy tale in winter. Or how about a brisk toboggan ride? Dashing down from the mountain to the valley on two runners is a lot of fun, for which the Achensee region prepares several natural toboggan runs in winter. Night owls can also go sledding in the evening. Some lanes are illuminated, sometimes even until midnight. You should definitely try your hand at the ice skating rinks. Gliding leisurely over mirror-smooth surfaces while your gaze wanders over snow-covered mountains or the quiet lake is a wonderful experience. Where there is ice cream, stick shooters are usually not far. Ice stock sport is a particularly sociable way to enjoy winter, with the family, among friends - or simply with other Achensee holidaymakers. Don't worry, the fun curling up is sure to break the ice quickly.
