The Achensee, which is surrounded by the mountain slopes of the Karwendel massif and the Rofan mountains, is not only the largest lake in Tyrol. For us it is also one of the most beautiful. The unique play of colors of the water in the various shades of turquoise and aquamarine is more reminiscent of the Caribbean than of a mountain lake. It is not for nothing that the Achensee is also often referred to as the "Tyrolean Sea".
